New Delhi: Afghanistan has launched a retaliatory strike against Pakistan. The Afghan Air Force unleashed drone attacks on several ‘terrorist hideouts’ in Balochistan. Afghanistan states that these drone strikes targeted ISIS bases. According to Afghanistan, these locations were used—with the assistance of certain hostile intelligence groups—to plan and coordinate attacks against Afghanistan; they had previously served as operational bases for planning and launching numerous deadly attacks.
The strikes targeted locations in the Gulistan area of the Qila Abdullah district. It is noteworthy that Pakistan had been continuously attacking Afghanistan over the past few days, prompting Afghanistan to vow retaliation.
Afghanistan’s Ministry of Defence stated on X (formerly Twitter) that the Air Force of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan conducted multiple airstrikes on ISIS hideouts in Pakistan’s Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces. These locations had supported hostile intelligence groups in planning and coordinating attacks against Afghanistan and had previously served as operational bases for plotting and launching deadly assaults.
The Ministry of Defence reported that the strikes targeted locations in the Gulistan area of Qila Abdullah district, as well as the Shakar Ab Jungle Gardi area in the Chagai district of Balochistan province, where joint facilities used by ISIS militants and other hostile elements were successfully hit.
Additionally, an ISIS-Khorasan (ISIS-K) hideout in the Kambar Khel area of the Orakzai Agency in Khyber was attacked. According to the Afghan Taliban, a location in Pakhtunkhwa—frequently visited by key leaders of the group—was also successfully targeted. Preliminary reports indicate that all pre-designated major targets were successfully struck during the operation.
Afghanistan has emphasized that it will no longer tolerate any threat to its security and stability. The country is fully prepared to utilize all available capabilities and resources to detect, neutralize, and eliminate any such threat.
