New Delhi. For the Amarnath Yatra year 2025, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has deployed about 30 trained personnel of its Mountain Rescue Teams (MRT) to ensure the safety of devotees passing through rugged mountain paths.
The Amarnath Yatra is scheduled to begin on July 3. The Mountain Rescue Teams include Central Reserve Police Force personnel with advanced training in mountain rescue, who will be working along the Baltal route. This route is one of the two major routes leading to the Amarnath cave temple.
These teams will be operated under the Srinagar sector of the CRPF and will be done in coordination with the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) of Jammu and Kashmir. DIG and Joint Nodal Officer Sudhir Kumar confirmed this deployment and told Aaj Tak that MRT will play an important role in improving the security and support system of the pilgrims.
The Yatra is being conducted through two routes
He said, “Their presence will not only help people facing physical difficulties on the way, but will also ensure quick and coordinated rescue efforts in case of floods, landslides or other natural disasters.”
Amarnath Yatra is being conducted on two routes. A total of 54 mountain rescue teams of different paramilitary forces have been deployed on the Pahalgam and Baltal routes. The purpose is that if any kind of disaster situation arises on the Amarnath Yatra route, then the pilgrims can be completely rescued. For this reason, mountain rescue teams have been deployed on both routes.
