New controversy in Maharashtra, minister inaugurates job portal to give jobs to Hindus by Hindus

  • May 03, 2025

Mumbai. Cabinet Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha in the Devendra Fadnavis government of Maharashtra recently inaugurated a digital platform called ‘Call Hindu’ on the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya. This is a private job portal, which has been prepared by Hindus for Hindus to give jobs to Hindus. According to its developer, this portal is to be used to provide employment, e-commerce, online marriage, religious travel etc. to the people of Hindu society.

This digital platform called ‘Call Hindu’ has been developed by a person named Vishal Durafe, who is a former state executive member of BJP Yuva Morcha and is also associated with Hindu Jagran Manch of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. According to him, the main objective of this portal is to bring Hindu employment providers and job seeking Hindu community in contact with each other. “First talk with Hindu” is the declared objective of Durafe. This portal was inaugurated on Wednesday and its app is still under development.

Minister called it a historic initiative
On the occasion of the inauguration of this portal, Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha said that a digital platform like ‘Call Hindu’ is a historic initiative according to the needs of the society in today’s technological era. It will not only provide employment and business opportunities but will also strengthen our religious, cultural and national unity. Now there is a political uproar in the state over the inauguration of a job portal for a particular community by the minister. Opposition parties are calling it an insult to the Constitution by a person sitting on a constitutional post.

If someone is getting employment, then support him
However, Minister Lodha said that he inaugurated this digital platform only as a minister who handles the Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Department in the Mahayuti government. He said, “The organization that developed the portal works mainly for Hindus, but the employment department is with me. If someone is getting employment, then as the minister of the department, I will support him.” Lodha said that every community in Maharashtra works for its people and working for Hindus is not a crime. He also did not object to naming the portal after Hindus and said that anyone can keep such a name.

    Accusation of insulting the Constitution
On the other hand, Mahesh Tapase, spokesperson of the opposition Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar), has questioned the minister’s claims. He said that how can a minister, who is a representative of the government, speak for a platform created for a particular community. “Any minister has to work within the ambit of the Constitution and the decorum defined in the Constitution, which clearly talks about equal opportunity for all. Once a minister supports a communal job portal, the question arises whether he is discharging his role as a minister impartially,” Tapase told The Print.
